Face Lift Procedure

Procedure: Facial Rejuvenation

Face-example-1

Cosmetic Concern: 47-year-old man who is interested in facial rejuvenation. He was looking for minimal down time alternatives.

Diagnosis

  1. Bilateral eyebrow ptosis
  2. Localized adiposity of the face
  3. Double chin

Treatment:

  1. Microdroplet Lift® BOTOX®
  2. Lower face and neck liposuction

Discussion:
Many patients who undergo face liposuction find that it is very easy to return to work 2 or 3 days after the procedure. Lower face liposuction is so comfortable that it can be performed in the office under local anesthesia.

Procedure: Buccal Fat Surgery

Face-example-2aFace-example-2b

Cosmetic Concern:
26-year-old desires a more refined facial appearance.

Diagnosis
She has a round face. Careful contouring of the face can create a more sophisticated look.

Treatment:
To create symmetric refinement in the face, Dr. Steinsapir removed a small amount of buccal fat from each cheek through a small incision inside the mouth. Down time is minimal. Individuals often have the procedure and return to work in 3 or 4 days.

Procedure: Lower Face and Neck Liposuction

Face-example-3Face-example-3

Cosmetic Concern:
43-year-old woman concerned about facial sagging along the jaw line and a neck cord.

Diagnosis
Her jowling makes her look older. The laxity in the neck created a small cord under the chin. The eyes look tired because of descent of the eyebrow soft tissue.

Treatment:
The best option for her is a lower face lift. However, down time was her primary consideration. Therefore, a lower face and neck liposuction through tiny incisions was chosen as the best compromise. To further refine the result, the midline neck muscles were trimmed through a small incision just under the chin and sewn together to prevent the neck cord from reforming. The procedure was performed in the office under local anesthesia. She was back to work in just 5 days.

Procedure: Facial Rejuvenation

Face-example-4

Cosmetic Concern:
66-year-old woman who is interested in minimally invasive facial rejuvenation.

Diagnosis

  1. Bilateral eyebrow ptosis
  2. Herniated orbital fat
  3. Laxity of the lower face
  4. Double chin

Treatment:

  1. Eyelid surgery
  2. Lower face and neck liposuction

Discussion:
A lower face lift is a very powerful surgery. However, some people do not wish to have the down time. Often less invasive procedures can help achieve many of the goals. During your consultation with Dr. Steinsapir, he will explore with you the best options and develop a plan that meets your needs.

Procedure: Facial Rejuvenation

Face-example-5

Cosmetic Concern:
58-year-old man who is concerned about looking fresher and younger.

Diagnosis

  1. Forehead wrinkles
  2. Severe eyebrow ptosis
  3. Herniated lower eyelid orbital fat
  4. Midface ptosis
  5. Facial wrinkles
  6. Neck cords

Treatment:

  1. Endoscopic forehead lift
  2. Midface lift over hand carved orbital rim implant
  3. Full-face chemical peel

Discussion:
Note that his surgical results are very natural. He did not get all of his surgeries at once but rather had them over a period of 2 years to avoid calling attention to the fact that he was getting cosmetic surgery. He was able to ease into his new, fresher look without others being aware of what he was doing.

Procedure: Facial Plastic Surgery

Face-example-9

Cosmetic Concern:
52-year-old woman with lower facial lines and eyebrow ptosis.

Diagnosis

  1. Aging face with eyebrow ptosis.
  2. Lower facial wrinkles.
  3. Neck laxity.

Treatment:
Endoscopic forehead lift and lower face lift. The key to a natural result is to leave the face calm, not pulled. We only have finite resources to look as good as possible. A surgery should not use these resources up. Additional procedures can always be performed if needed such as chemical peel, fat transfer, fillers such as Restylane Lyft® and Restylane®, and BOTOX® to finish a look. Her down time was 10 days. Surgery is typically performed at the UCLA Surgery Center under IV sedation.

The goal must be directed to what is appropriate for the individual. Dr. Steinsapir may review old photographs to get a sense of the desired aesthetic. Very few people want something other than to be restored to a more youthful version along the lines of their personal self-image. These results are very natural and achieved the goal of restoring her to a vision of her more youthful self.

Discussion:
Note the dramatic improvement in the quality of her skin and the contour of the lower face. She had 8 days of downtime with her procedures. She also would have benefited from a lower face lift but this patient did not want to undergo general anesthesia. All the work was performed in the office under local anesthesia.
