Endoscopic Facelift

Whereas the endoscopic forehead lift is a standardized procedure, the endoscopic facelift is more of a marketing concept. Generally this refers to degloving the soft tissue of the midface via an intraoral incision. The mobilized tissues are then elevated through a temple incision. There are a couple of things to keep in mind. First an endoscope is not actually necessary to perform this type of surgery, as it is possible to directly visualize the work being done through the typical incisions. Also what makes a facelift is the trimming of excessive skin. As this is not done, the procedure is effective only for people who don't have excessive skin and they probably don't need a facelift surgery in the first place.
