Cheek Implant

A solid implant positioned over the prominence of the cheek bone to enhance the projection of this facial area. Solid silicone implants are the most common material used, however, implants are also less commonly available in other materials including porous polyethylene and ePTFE. The implants are available in a variety of sizes and shapes depending on the facial contour deficits that need to be addressed. The implant can be placed through an incision through mouth, or behind the eyelid. With the availability of good long-term fillers such as Perlane® much of the volume needs that might prompt one to consider a cheek implant can be met with an an office based filler service with almost no downtime and no surgery.
